ABOUT US - ENFOHUB'S LOCAL CHAPTERS

ABOUT US - ENFOHUB'S LOCAL CHAPTERS

The enfohub Networking Groups

Join us for our next local Meeting or create a Group of your own! We are supported by enfohub and have local Chapters. Our groups are not like typical networking or 'referral' groups. We don’t have a lot of rules and don’t focus solely on trading referrals between members.

Our Networking Group has 3 main goals:

1- Build Relationships – Focusing on strong connections with other small businesses, sharing successes & knowledge held by large corporations. We don’t view each other as competitors, even in the same industries, like how Home Depot & Lowe’s see each other, they often place stores near the other. We understand how each business brings unique value to our customers.

2- Learn Guerrilla Marketing & Create Co-Marketing Partnerships – We unite multiple businesses to share marketing opportunities and create co-branded social media posts. This approach saves time and money while greatly expanding our reach, ensuring our content is seen by a wider audience, including those who might not have noticed us otherwise.

3- Learn Business Lessons – Supported by enfohub, a tech startup for small businesses, our group offers a variety of lessons each meeting. Topics include how Yelp can help or hurt, effective social media and website marketing, the difference between social media apps & websites, and identifying good vs. bad websites. We also explore business models like virtual offices and other current tech opportunities.

Join Forces To Achieve More

Join Forces To Achieve More

Look no further than the family-run restaurants that are now controlled by 3rd party Apps that charge them 34 1/2% of most of their sales.

In our groups, relationships go beyond just networking for referrals, or 'traing referrals'. We focus on creating partnerships that are built on trust, shared goals, and mutual benefit. We believe that when one business succeeds, it helps uplift others in the community, creating a ripple effect of growth and opportunity.

How We Build Relationships

  1. Collaboration and Sharing: We provide a platform where businesses can share their success stories, challenges, and lessons learned. By learning from each other, businesses can avoid common pitfalls and find new strategies for success.
  2. Networking Opportunities: Through regular meetings and events, our members have the chance to meet new business owners, potential partners, and industry peers. These connections help build a network of trusted individuals who can offer support, advice, and business opportunities.
  3. Creating Co-Marketing Partnerships: As part of our group’s efforts to expand marketing reach, we encourage businesses to collaborate on co-marketing campaigns. By teaming up with other businesses, you can leverage each other’s audiences, creating greater visibility and building stronger relationships with customers.
  4. A Supportive Community: Our group is a safe space where business owners can come together and discuss their struggles and successes without fear of judgment. We believe in lifting each other up, sharing advice, and creating an environment where small businesses can succeed.

The Power of Relationships in Small Business

Small businesses thrive on relationships. Whether it’s collaborating on marketing efforts, sharing insights, or simply supporting each other through tough times, the power of connection can’t be underestimated. When businesses work together, they have the potential to achieve much more than they could alone.

In our networking group, we prioritize relationship-building because we believe it’s the key to long-term success. When we create strong bonds with other local businesses, we create a foundation for growth and a sense of community that benefits everyone involved.

Join us today and start building the relationships that will help your business grow! Together, we can achieve more.

Marketing is one of the toughest challenges for small business owners. Most entrepreneurs don't start a business because they're passionate about marketing—they start because they have a skill or product they believe in. Unfortunately, marketing often isn't a natural strength for many business owners, making it one of the most difficult areas to master.

That's why we focus on creating collaborative marketing opportunities. Whether it's developing shared social media posts, hosting joint events, or launching co-branded promotions, working together allows small businesses to save on costs, increase their reach, and create fresh, engaging ways to connect with new customers. By leveraging each business’s unique strengths and audience, we can create a mutually beneficial environment for everyone.

If you're looking to expand your marketing efforts, reduce costs, and form lasting partnerships, our group is the ideal place to start. We start with the basics, but rapidly move to very creative concepts, and for many, working with others is needed to get their business to where it can go.

The Red Dot

I was told this story by Rob Ryan himself, and it is in his book for Smartups. Rob may be one the most influential people who helped to create the internet we use today. He sold his company Ascend in 1999 in a $24 billion merger, which at the time was the largest technology merger in history. I have told this story hundreds of times and all businesses should understand its importance.

The Red Dot:

All living things have something about them they use to survive, humans use intelligence, turtles have their shells, lions have their strength and size, do zebras use their stripes?

Researchers went to Africa to see what effects the stripes had on Zebras. It's hard to follow a single zebra in a herd, so they painted red dots on the sides of a few. The researchers set camp and would track them in the morning. However, by morning all the zebras with red dots were gone. So they painted some more zebras and again planned to follow them the next morning. Surprisingly, all the zebras with the red dot were gone again, they were dead and eaten by lions.

It turns out, like the researchers, the lions cannot follow a single zebra in a herd either. Normally lions must wait for the weak or young stragglers. However, the red dots allowed them to track a single zebra until they could take it down.

So, the question you want to ask yourself is, in your business, what is it's Red Dot? How can potential customers remember you, track you, and differentiate you from the competition? Businesses can all blend together too!

All real estate agents claim they sell houses faster and for more money than their competitors. Restaurants insist they only use the freshest ingredients, with some even including "fresh" in their names—Baja Fresh, Chevy’s Fresh Mex, and Hello Fresh, to name a few. Small businesses, including as small as a gig worker with a Craigslist ad, can greatly benefit from promoting themselves using the Red Dot theory.

In the ’70s, a car dealership featured memorable commercials with the owner, Cal Worthington and his "dog" Spot. What made these ads so unforgettable was that his "dog" was never actually a dog—it was often a lion or another exotic animal. That unique twist made the dealership hard to forget. He sold used cars cheap, with his unforgettable dog Spot and that red dot made him one of the biggest used car dealerships in America.

Similarly, Apple’s "Think Different" campaign had the perfect red dot. In 1997 computers were not user-friendly, and many people struggled to learn how to use them. Apple got the attention of the typical tech audience, and was even more appealing to the highest computer enthusiasts who were willing to invest the most in innovation and in being, Different. Apple made more money per unit than any other computer maker.

Red dots can be a slogan that stands out, like Apple’s, Think Different. Wendy’s Where’s the beef? If you need batteries, how about Duracell and that Copper Top Battery or the Energizer Bunny!

It can also be what, or how you do what you do. You can make your small business appeal more by saying, When the boss is doing the work, the job is just better.

All these are different elements used to stand out, and all meet the red dot’s strategy of being easily identified in a crowded market and being remembered. Small business owners need marketing just like big companies do. Few elements can propel a business like finding a good red dot.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the focus of your networking group?

Our group focuses on relationships& teamwork, sharing business knowledge, and creating co-marketing partnerships for small businesses in Victorville and surrounding areas. We look to market outside our group, not to focus just on marketing within the group.
We are NOT a group formed just to trade customer referrals with members - it is to learn and to foster marketing partnerships and combine our marketing efforts with others.
We teach the concepts of Gorilla Marketing and the Red Dot principle.

How does your Group differ from other networking or referral groups?

We cannot emphasize this point enough... Our focus is on building partnerships and marketing directed outside of the group, rather than just exchanging customer referrals within the group. We are not a group formed solely for referral trading. Instead, we aim to learn from each other, foster meaningful marketing partnerships, and collaborate on joint marketing efforts that extend beyond our group. By combining our marketing resources with other businesses, we can reach a larger audience and create more impactful promotional opportunities.
And for some, having a group of other to push you and to motivate you to be a consistant and effective marketer.

Is attendance mandatory for your networking group?

Attendance is not required, and no one will be monitoring or shaming you for missing meetings.
However, we do encourage consistent attendance. The group thrives on sharing marketing insights, success stories, news, and opportunities for collaboration. Missing meetings can impact others, as our collective knowledge and efforts are what make the group valuable.
We also aim to be a source of motivation for maintaining good marketing practices and consistent frequency, which many small businesses struggle with. Regular participation helps ensure you stay on track and contribute to the success of the group.

Who can join the networking group?

Small business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals interested in growing their businesses through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and marketing partnerships are welcome. We also welcome sales reps and other non-small business individuals who wish to improve and share ideas, lessons, and success stories.

Can I bring a guest to a meeting?

Yes, guests are welcome to attend our meetings! We encourage you to bring potential business partners or others who may benefit from the group. Please use the Attenhub feature to RSVP and include the number of guests attending.
After two meetings, guests who are not part of a member's business or immediate family must register and become members to continue attending. To ensure a productive environment, we ask that each member limit continuous (non-paying member) guest to one per meeting—typically a direct family member (such as a spouse) or a single staff member.
Please understand, most groups charge much more, the memebership fee is low and is needed to cover the cost of providing the support and lesson content. We need the memebership fees to continue supporting these groups.

Is there a membership cost?

Yes, the membership fee is $25 per month. If a enfohub website customer, the memberships fee is 50% off.
Fees are paid through Stripe credit card processing and automatically billed every 30 days.

Is there food & drinks and does the membership fee include any?

Our group is supported by enfohub's Networking program, which is a low-cost program designed to focus on the essentials & keep expenses minimal. Each chapter has the flexibility to create its own rules and structure. While our chapter does not provide food & drinks at our meetings, this can be added should the members wish to add them. That requires someone take on the responsibility of organizing and collecting the shared costs.

Where and when are your meetings held?

There are no set locations and times and we encourage our members to host meetings so they can make hosting a meeting part their marketing.
Chapters are free to meet at any location of their choice.
Our chapter is lucky to have the Meeting Room at the Dome to meet, but we want to also meet at a varitiy of differnet locations.
Should you miss a meeting, it is wise to check with the Attenhub feature on the website to verify the time, date and location of next meeting.
We are a weeking evening group, until we agree to change that - Mondays at 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

What if I want to try you out? What do I need to do?

We’d love for you to check us out - the more the better! While you can simply show up, we encourage you to RSVP through the Attenhub feature. This helps us better prepare for the number of attendees at each meeting.
There are no other requirements—feel free to attend, participate, and even suggest ideas for the group and please share your thoughts on any small business lesson and skill. We're here to learn and grow together!

What is a typical meeting like?

Each chapter in the enfohub Networking Program is free to create a structure that works best for them. For our Victorville Chapter #101, our typical meeting format is as follows:
Begin 7:30pm:
Group Discussion: We start with a discussion where members can share relevant news, events, success stories, and lessons learned. This allows us to accommodate those who may arrive late.
Business Lesson: Next, we watch or listen to a 20-minute business lesson provided by a enfohub App Manager, selected by the group, followed by a discussion.
Marketing Partnerships: The meeting ends with an open session for members to request marketing partners and exchange marketing ideas. Members may split into smaller groups to collaborate on creating marketing plans.

What are co-marketing partnerships?

Co-marketing partnerships are about small businesses collaborating to market their products and services, similar to how big corporations do—despite having limited budgets. These partnerships involve businesses working together on marketing initiatives, such as joint social media campaigns or shared promotions, to increase visibility for everyone involved.
For example, a social media post that promotes four businesses can reach a much larger audience—potentially four times as many customers. Additionally, the time and cost of creating shared marketing content are split among the partners, creating savings for all.
Co-marketing partnerships also help keep businesses motivated and accountable. When working together, members are more likely to stay on track with their marketing efforts, reducing procrastination and increasing overall effectiveness.

What is Guerrilla Marketing?

Guerrilla Marketing is an unconventional, low-cost marketing strategy that focuses on using creative, unexpected tactics to promote a product, service, or brand. Unlike traditional marketing, which often involves hefty advertising budgets, guerrilla marketing thrives on creativity, resourcefulness, and imagination to make a big impact with a small budget.

Key characteristics of guerrilla marketing include:

Low Cost: Guerrilla marketing is budget-friendly, relying on creativity and available resources instead of expensive ad campaigns.
Creativity: It uses out-of-the-box ideas that capture attention and create memorable experiences.
Engagement: It encourages direct or indirect interaction with the target audience, making them a part of the campaign.
Sneak Approach: For example, a social media post featuring a hardware store's staff enjoying lunch from a marketing partner, while a customer, like a plumber, shops for sprinkler parts. In one post, three businesses advertise their services, creating a subtle but effective promotion.
Cross-Promotion of Unrelated Businesses: Guerrilla marketing is also about creating collaborative campaigns between completely unrelated businesses, expanding reach by leveraging each business's audience. A clothing boutique could collaborate with a coffee shop for a joint promotion, where customers get a discount at one business when they purchase at the other, introducing their audiences to new brands they might not have encountered otherwise.
Viral Potential: Guerrilla marketing aims to create buzz and spark word-of-mouth, with the hope that the campaign will be shared across social media and other platforms.
Wider Exposure: A potential customer engaged with a brand they like may also be exposed to other businesses they wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. This broadens the business's visibility and introduces it to new audiences.
Examples of guerrilla marketing include videos featuring multiple businesses, or popup events where unrelated businesses collaborate. The goal is to make a lasting impression with minimal investment while reaching customers who might not have otherwise discovered the business.

Are there remote or Zoom access to meetings?

We plan to incorporate Zoom access and occasional live streams for our meetings. Stay tuned for future announcements!

Is a enfohub's website required? Is there a constant pitch for a website?

enfohub offers a website builder specifically designed just for small businesses, and many users highly recommend it. However, while enfohub is a business with costs to cover, our primary goal is to support small businesses and the Networking Program is an example of that. The founders of enfohub all come from small business backgrounds themselves!
We believe every small business should have a website, as websites are a crucial part of marketing and often serve as a business’s 24/7 salesforce. There is a lot of discussion around websites—how they work, best practices, and how to make them effective. When websites are discussed within the group, the enfohub website builder is most likely used as the example, simply because it is what we know best. However, using an enfohub website is neither required nor expected. There’s no pressure to purchase anything—our focus is on helping your business grow in whatever way works best for you.

Is it possible to create my own networking group with the enfohub platform & support?

Yes, it's easy! There is a $150 setup fee (usually shared with the initial membership) and a recurring the membership fees cover the program's costs - there are no additional program fees. A minimum of 14 members is required after 3 months, but there’s a flexible, stepped rate, giving you 3 months to reach the minimum. Should you not have the minimum number of members, members can raise the monthly rate to meet the minimum program fee.
Each chapter receives a pre-designed website, tailored specifically for them. An administrator is needed to manage the site and serve as the primary contact with enfohub. All membership payments are processed automatically via credit card, and the administrator's management duties are minimal.
Each chapter is free to customize the program to best fit their members.

How Domains Work & Your Options
Domains are one of the most important elements of a website. Most 'free' website providers that offer free websites do so because they have you use their domain, so your customers help build their SEO vs build your SEO. One of several reasons they are free, they receive the benefits.

Having your own domain is important for several reasons. Perhaps the most important is it allows the search engines to locate you better. They act like keywords. JoesPaintingPhoenix.com is a great example; it tells the search engines who you are, what you do, and where your customers are. Domains are like your reputation; keep them for a long time and let the search engine know who you are.

Domains are $24.50 a year, includes an SSL Cert. We can also direct your domain to our servers too. Or at no cost provide you with a domain 'yourbusiness.enfohub.com.
